October 24, 2009

Calvin is not impressed by loud noises.

When Greg and Maisie yodel at the dinner table (yes, our table manners leave a little to be desired) he very deliberately puts his hands over his ears.

A fall sunset--I loved the pinks, just wisps going through here and there...

October 18, 2009

!!! Well, I guess I've wound up skipping enough days that I can put up two from the same day.

This is Calvin. Concentrating. On getting somewhere!!!

October 18, 2009

Our first attempt at a fall picture. Oh boy. Probably going to be a while before we get BOTH kids looking at the camera, or BOTH kids smiling, or BOTH kids sitting up pointed the right direction.....

Would have liked to have Iris in the photo, too, but we were worried that she'd just knock someone (or someTHING--redneck tripod, anyone?) over with her crazy klutzy little dogself.

October 16, 2009

Maisie and I went to a party! Maisie's friend Chloe from preschool and her mommy Kelly had a jewelry party, and we went. Maisie felt very grown up to put on a skirt and go to a party when it was already dark outside!

October 14, 2009

Maisie helped me peel and slice the apples to put into our "new" dehydrator! Pam sent hers up with Mom after their trip to CA and OR, and we've gotten tons of use out of it already!

I was NOT impressed by the process of drying peaches, it takes forEVER to fill the racks, but I love the dried peaches. And I'm not fond of canned, at all. This little peeling/slicing gizmo made doing apples MUCH easier! These are golden delicious apples from Bonney Farm, and they are WONDERFUL! Our Ambrosias from the surrounding orchard are awesome dried, too. I also tried drying the very last of our tomatoes, and they've turned out pretty good, too! Will be drying MUCH more fruit next year!

October 12, 2009

The sun was coming up, and giving a really pretty glow off the tops of the corn across the street-this is one of the last days the cornfield was standing.

October 11, 2009

Digging into a gift from Gerry Weber-it's a set of Melissa and Doug blocks that both kids LOVE!! Greg has fits about the smaller ones (because you could fit them through a toilet paper tube, so he could swallow them!) so we try to keep the smaller ones out of his reach--that would be UP somewhere, because this little guy gets around! He isn't crawling on all 4s, but he gets up on all four, then lunges forward. Gets anywhere he wants!
ARCHIVED PICTURE ALERT:

THIS IS MAISIE---just for comparison, at around 8 months.

October 4, 2009

Greg actually called me back to the bedroom to see Calv all bundled up like this...I doubt he remembered that we had such a similar picture of Maisie bundled up in the same towel right around the same age. I had to take a picture for comparison's sake!

October 3, 2009

Just showing off some blue...

October 2, 2009

Awww....if they could only get along like this forever, whispering secrets and giggling about it!!!

September 12, 2009

And...enjoying an ice cream at Farmer Consumer Awareness Day.

September 11, 2009

Taking a moment to paint one of Papa and Gogo's UFO squash...

September 8, 2009

Maisie's first day of preschool. She's attending Winky Bear Christian Preschool at our church, and loving every minute of it!

September 6, 2009

Tomato Fare. Fabulous day, too many great pictures to choose just one. Besides, I'm playing catch up!!

And...October 9...winter jammies. Ack. Soooo not ready!
Our last day at the beach. Maisie had such a blast swimming and walking on the beach! (she missed her first two days of school for it!)
A relaxing moment in the yard...even though the crazy dog was inches from us!
The Squackers go to Portland (well, those of us who don't live there!) And it was JUST the girls!! :) What fun!

Miss Maisie's first day of preschool.

October 9, 2009

Let's start with:

CALVIN IS 9 MONTHS OLD!!!

I've missed two of these--not just because I haven't been blogging...just because time got away from me! :( How sad! What a big boy he is, so happy!!
